Hi,
I have a decent undergrad academic record - upper second class in an economics honors program. Ive done really well in my masters - first class with distinction in econoics. Ive also won may academic awards and scholarships right thru college. And my extracurriculars are good - Ive played sports for college and in amateur state leagues, have debated and done theater, besides others. Ive also worked with two NGOs while in college. Im currently a reporter with a financial newspaper (will have worked five months when i send my apps in). Ive published a paper and have co-authored three others. And, i will get good enuf reccos from my teachers. Well, the point is, I have a 1440 in my GRE - 790 quant and 650 verbal. Ive been lead to believe it isnt enough to get an admission and full aid in the colleges i wish to apply to. I plan to spray my apps across colleges in the first three tiers...concentrating mainly on second tier colleges. Are my scores good enough? and if not, will my other strengths make up for it? ive already registered to give the gre again in october. so... should i cancel the regn??

And where can i get a decent ranking of coleges for political science and political philosophy??

Thanks

Wow, that sounds like enough to me. Usnews may do graudate rankings too, if not I'd do some google searches or check amazon.com. Wish I was applying with a record like that...
