AceGMAT 08-02-2003, 09:09 AM Hi KP
Greetings!!
I am taking my GMAT wih a goal to surpass 700 mark.
I am a Maths graduate from a reputed indian institute and have been working with MNC in a senior position.
Look, pal, its almost a decade, I am away from my study and planning to take GMAT in Nov-Dec, 03.
Could you please let me know whether its a good idea to start with RS Agarwal for quantitative section? Should this book be good enough to crack Maths section?
Which course material should I opr for for example IMS or American Education Aids, Chennai.
Regards mate!

Clear Admit 08-21-2003, 11:16 PM To all,
Generally speaking the ETS book and the sample tests from Kaplan, Princeton Review and other similar firms are all very solid tools for preparation. In most cases, the more tests you can get your hands on the better off you will be (despite the nuances across the different offerings).
They key is to take full-length tests under timed conditions, since most people end up finding the real test difficult for endurance and pacing reasons more than anything else. The temptation is to work on sections of the tests here and there, etc., but true preparation requires a great deal of discipline.
Best of luck,

preprank 09-03-2003, 07:15 AM priyak,
No, you don't need any more material for learning the material and strategies for the GMAT. Since you've completed Kaplan's book, I'd suggest not working another preparation book, as the methods don't vary much, and you'll likely just confuse yourself since the different books use different terminology. Many students try to "learn" more about the GMAT. Likely, you've got the content and strategies down fine by now.
However, practice like mad. Work on your timing, plus review all practice tests you take -- correct and incorrect answers -- make sure you got a question right for the right reason.
