Please help- I’m concerned as to whether taking a GMAT test would significantly enhance entry into the following uni MBA courses:
Aston
Nottingham
Leeds
Durham

With these qualifications: BA (Hons) 2:1 Business degree from a low ranked university + Pg Dip Marketing + 5 years experience?is a GMAT test preferable for these universities, or is it really not necessary?

I see the above wasn't going to get a response!
So to broaden the question's appeal and relevance...

Is it typically expected of UK students to take the GMAT test for UK "2nd tier" (i.e. next below LBS, Cranfield, Manchester) MBA schools?
Thanks.

Dear Max,

The answer to your question is that many of the second tier programs in the UK do not require GMAT scores for domestic applicants. Typically, the only requirement for these programs is a university degree and sufficient work experience.

Having said that, I would be sure and check with each program for latest details, since the GMAT is increasingly becoming a valuable benchmark for schools to use in the admissions process.

Here are the schools you asked about, with their GMAT rules:

1. Leeds - no GMAT (may be required of int'l students).
2. Aston - no GMAT required.
3. Nottingham - no GMAT (may be required of int'l students).
4. Durham - no GMAT required.

Best of luck in the MBA admissions process,

Graham Richmond
