Roquedj2000 05-16-2006, 04:35 PM Hello
My name is Bryan D'Souza. I have just concluded my undergraduate work in BSBA (Bachelor of Science in Business Administration) from Champlain College, Burlington, Vermont, USA. I am an international student and I'm looking at applying to Harvard and Wharton. I was planning to apply for an MBA in these schools as a college senior because I didn't want to waste time getting work-ex. I am planning to take the GMAT in 3 months' time. My final GPA is 3.843 and I am the receipient of the Magna Cum Laude.
Some questions:
1. How good is Champlain College in reputation?
2. Should I pursue to work before I apply to Harvard and Wharton?
3. On the basis of my GPA, how good a GMAT score should I get?
4. Please suggest other good B-schools of a similar caliber as Harvard and Wharton.
Some answers?
Regards,
Bryan

I have agree with the last post, the question you need to ask is "what do I have to offer these schools?" rather than what they offer you. They get 10 times the applicants than they admit to their programs each year, so they are looking for top people with top experience.
If you don't want to waste your time getting work experience, what is it you want to do after your MBA? Work Ex is as much a learning experience as an MBA, and top schools know that.
If you dont want to work before doing an MBA I would suggest you look a little lower on the list of MBA schools.
Cheers
Tony
Roquedj2000 05-17-2006, 05:54 AM Hey Tony,
Thanks for the info. But now I wonder, what job is GOOD ENOUGH to look on my application? Could you tell me what are the types of jobs that I as a fresher can go in for and which would look good on the application for an MBA?
Tanks
Bryan
