Waitlisted for Stern Part Time '06

I have been waitlisted for Stern's part-time program for the Fall 2006 semester. I am currently strenghtening my app with addl. recos from Stern alum etc. I have approximately 5 years of work experience in the media industry in the US and internationally. I got a 640 on the GMAT (low quant score) and feel that may have been the reason for my waitlist. I plan to reapply for the spring semester, the application deadline for which is September 15, 2006. In the meantime I also plan to retake the GMAT and strengthen my score. Since I need time to prepare for the GMAT and won't take it before last week in August or first week in sept, I don't think that could help me with admission to the fall semester.

I am wondering if I should inform the admission committee of my decision to reapply with a stronger GMAT score but I am not sure if that would ruin my chances of getting in off the waitlist for the Fall, or improve them. I would appreciate your insight.

i don't see how telling them of your reapplication plans can help your current application I am afraid. cheers, alex
