mba_hopeful_2006 05-31-2006, 09:44 PM Hi!
I was wondering what my chances are at HBS or Wharton if I apply this fall. I'm 25 and female. I went to a top 5 US school, majored in computer science, and graduated with a 3.4 GPA. I held various leadership positions in several clubs and in my sorority. Since graduating three years ago I've been working in pharma doing quantitative research and data analysis. I eventually want to start my own company that performs data analyses for various pharmaceutical companies. I just got my master's in Applied Mathematics (4.0 GPA from Columbia) to increase my technical background. Now I want an MBA so that I can acquire the business skills and knowledge to start my own company. I got a 760 on my GMAT. Outside of work I tutor adults who have trouble reading, I serve as a vice president in one of the local alumni clubs for my undergrad university, and I am working with my undergrad alumni association to start another alumni club for people of South Asian origin. What do you think my chances are at Harvard or Wharton?
Thanks for your help!
Clear Admit 06-05-2006, 04:49 PM You appear to have an impressive profile and I think with good execution on your application you have a good shot at whichever schools you choose to apply. That being said you might want to add one or two more schools to your choices. You don't mention much about the quality of work experiences you have had, but I am assuming that is strong, and you can also demonstrate leadership via work and your community service work.
cheers, alex
