I'm a bit torn on which program to apply to. I am looking ideally at NYU or Columbia (PT/EMBA), but I have multiple problems (as I will list below).
1. My academic background is weak (2.4 GPA 1999) - I goofed off to much while in school but has shaped up since.
2. EMBA vs. MBA.. what are the real pros and cons? I don't plan on staying where I am although I've rised to a fairly senior level of this publicly traded company. I would like to move into banking.
3. Do I have enough years of experience to apply to an EMBA program? I have 7 years of total work experience. I am a Director of Finance in my current position.
4. What are my chances of making it into these highly competitive programs?
Many Thanks!
ImJustMatt 10-29-2006, 06:06 PM Try calling the career centers that handle the EMBA students. Tell them you want to go into banking, and ask how many EMBA students (of those attempting) make the jump? You might also try calling some lower ranked MBA programs to find out where they are placing students.
