xjc220 08-19-2006, 08:04 PM Hi, I am 24yr old consultant and plan on going to b-school at the age of 28 when I am a sr. consultant or first year manager. I currently have experience in three industries Financial, Retail, and Defense, and worked on Proposals (Pricing models for projects). I am currently on a $200 million retail project. I have done volunteering and joined clubs. By the time I’m 28 I’ll have good experience. However, my GMAT score is what I am worried about. I have an alright gpa I graduated form college with a cumulative of 3.3 Major 3.5 in MIS.
I currently took the GMAT and did poorly on it. I have a question regarding solving Math and English questions what are some good strategies used when answering the math problems and English problems. I'm not good at standardized exams. I have the Princeton review book that gives you tips but I still performed poorly on the GMAT. I'm going to take it again. If I get a 680 can I get into NYU or Columbia since my work experience and other extra curricular activities will make up for a lower score?
