Art Student Interested in Getting MBA

Hello! I am a recent graduate of a very reputable fine arts school. I very much enjoyed my 4 years there but a part of me always wanted to pursue business, especially marketing. Therefore I took a few business classes at a neighboring school, in conjunction to getting my bachelors of fine arts degree. Now that I have graduated, I have found a position in the direct marketing business but I wish to continue to pursue my business degree dreams, hopefully in 3-4 years. Do business schools accept students with a Fine Arts background? If not, how would I go about getting into a program?

thanks! :)

The type of degree tends from what I understand tends to be of little importance except regarding the difficulty of the curriculum. Business schools accept students with all types of degrees. High GMAT scores and a good GPA will show you will be able to handle the curriculum and your work experience, communication ability, and leadership ability will be important factors in an acceptance decision. Continue working hard, build your experience, maybe take your GMAT now since you are recently out of school and still in test mode, and apply to the schools you think will best suit your needs when you feel you are ready.

I would echo Icemaster's great post but add to it that having a BFA will actually make you more appealing as schools often look to diversify by accepting students with out of the norm (out of the norm for an MBA) experiences and education.
