I have constantly scoring around 610 on my KAPLAN GMAT CAT's online.

I am targeting at least 650 on the actual GMAT which I will take in 2 weeks.

Should I be discouraged with my KAPLAN scores?

any help will be greatly appreciated.

thank you

Sometimes the degree of dificulty on the test-prep books vary for being much harder to somewhat easier than the actual test. I would try a practice test written by another publisher and see how you do. GMAC should send you a practice test cd in the mail as well. I know they sent me one when I did my GMAT five years ago.

Generlly speeking the prep test are a little bit harder than the real one. Hence you don't have to worry. It' will give you the tips to succeed.

I just took my GMATs about a month ago. I scored 540 on my GMATs but I am planning on taking them again in early October. One thing I did learn is that the practice tests are good indicators to your actual score. So, if you are constantly scoring in the 600s-640s range then the chances are you will actually hit the range on the actual test.

When you go in for the exam you will probably score 10-20 points below your online score. Thats the rule of thumb.

Focus on one area where you consistently score poorly - e.g., a particular aspect of math. Spend a day to learn that topic back-to-front, and it may get you those few extra points. My son did this for his SAT a few months back and it pushed his score up 100 points.

I agree with the statement that the sample test scores are a good indicator of your actual score. I scored 690 on my last sample test, which is the exact same score I got on the GMAT.
