booyakasha 07-10-2006, 02:09 PM Hello! My multi-channel marketing company is debating whether or not to join the Direct Marketing Association. If so, I would be attending most of the annual events. When applying to B-schools, can I state on my resumes that I did in fact attend this annual conferences, and will this impress the admissions departments? or is it not worth it???
gracias!
cemj99 07-10-2006, 05:54 PM It really isn't worth it. It's better to focus on the accomplishments of your business rather than your involvement in a trade organization for multilevel marketing. I know this wouldn't be well received by most schools. I can't speak for most schools but when we were putting our business plans together for our final project, we were banned from even putting together a plan to open up a franchise(McDonald's, Blimpie, etc). I know you get a lot of good experience from DMA and your business but the b-school community doesn't seem to be ready for that.
philipwhite 07-13-2006, 05:48 PM I don't think you want to admit you have anything to do with MLM. In fact if you do have anything to do with MLM, you should quit now. Maybe even see a therapist.
MLM?
He said Multi-Channel Marketing- not Multi LEVEL marketing. My understanding is that it's not the whole Amway thing- it's Direct Marketing stuff...
So- spammers, not con artists. :D
I could be wrong though.
