I am from india and am interseted in doing mba from US.
How do business schools calculate GPA of Indian students (in India we have different system of marking -percentage).

Dear GPAWAN77,

The MBA programs in the USA are very used to seeing Indian transcripts. In fact, they even have a basic level of familiarity with some of India's top undergraduate institutions. As an applicant, you can report your grades by scaling them into a 4.0 system (although they usually turn out to appear much lower when this is done). Another option is to leave the GPA section blank and include an explanation of your grades. The schools will also look at class rank - either numerically or by percentage. At the end of the day, you shouldn't be too worried about this, since the programs see so many Indian transcripts that they are very used to the system.

Please let me know if you have any other questions regarding this matter, or if you are interested in our guidance as you begin the application process.

Cheers,

Graham Richmond
