mbawannabe 03-01-2006, 11:36 PM I'm newbie here, planning to go for my MBA next year. Due to budget consideration, I only want to send 3-4 application, being at least 1 of them is Ivy (Yale or MIT Sloan) and 1 is U of M Carlson. I live in MN now but want to move to east coast.
Here is my profile:
- 32 female, Indonesian (citizenship: Indonesia), moved to USA in 2004
- bachelor degree in pharmacy (it was a 4 + 1 year school) GPA 3.78
- licensed as pharmacist in Indonesia, working to get my license in USA
Work experience:
- laboratory assistant in college for 2 years
- part-time pharmacist for 3 years
- brand manager for 6 years, both in local and multinational company, mostly consumer goods co.
- call center intake in USA for 6 months (just so I have something to do for the time being)
Extra:
- love music, learn to play organ since I was 4, won a local competition when I was 17, was private music teacher for 1 year
- was in marching band as saxophonist for 5 years during my high school time
- active in college choir
- member of financial team in student's club for 2 years during my college time
- captain of the class in high school for 2 semesters
- math and science private tutor for elementary students
Still working on GMAT and TOEFL so haven't got the score yet.
Short term goal with MBA: break into US market as senior manager in marketing field; long term goal: become marketing consultant with international experience
I am also planning to get loan for my MBA so I definitely need tons of job offers once graduated.
Based on my profile and assuming I get 700 on GMAT, which school would I get the best chance of acceptance ? I need school with strong emphasis on Marketing and between Yale and MIT Sloan: which one has more ? I'm also thinking about U of Chi. Any other school that I should look at ?
Please help...
mbawannabe 03-06-2006, 01:49 PM Anyone has any ideas or inputs ? As a side note, I'm also thinking of U of M Carlson.
